It is too hard to pick just one great memory from all of high school so I had to pick two. My favorite memory from all my years of football was my first varsity football win. It was the first game of the year and after a long and hard-fought battle, Lynbrook football came out on top and won the game. This win was earned, not just given to us. The entire game had some of the most exciting moments in my life. After the game, as everybody went to the locker room to change, we played the Lynbrook football victory song, country roads, and this is where the memory goes from good to great. All of my brothers in one place singing the same song with such enthusiasm. This was a truly powerful moment. The ability of twenty or thirty young men to be able to share and celebrate one thing is amazing. That song still reminds me of all the good times in football, a time I will never experience again. The second memory is very similar. It comes from league finals of wrestling my senior year. I was wrestling a match that would decide whether or not I would go to CCS. This meant that this match either meant I could wrestle for another two weeks or my season was over and I might never wrestle again. The guy I wrestled was decent at wrestling, but I knew I was superior. Even so, I had so many nerves fighting this guy for my wrestling career. This was it, it was now or never. I fought and fought until I was finally winning by two points. I finished the match and saw I won. I was going to CCS. this moment I remember jumping off the mat shaking my opponent’s hand and rushing over to my family and team to celebrate. This was one of the true highlights of my wrestling career and high school life.
