The single most influential person in my four years at Lynbrook was my football coach, Coach Palmer. He took over the junior varsity team my freshman year and since that day I have had the utmost respect for him. He sacrificed so much for the team even though he received very little reward for his work. He stuck with a football team for four years. A team that never got the record he wanted and had little support from the school. He hardly slept in order to coach the team and support his family. Coach Palmer gave his all into whatever he was doing, whether he was parenting, coaching, or working. He gave his all and made sure he got all his responsibilities done. I have tried, not always successfully, to emulate everything my coach stood for and taught. I would put one hundred percent into my football workouts and my wrestling practice. I would always try my best at school and work hard to help my community. Coach Palmer has not only told me how to work hard, but he showed it as well and that is why he has had the greatest impact on me at Lynbrook high school.
